The AE pack contains a set of common classes and utilities used in ASP.NET development. It includes an ORM, a streamlined ADO.NET interface, etc. So many times, a well-designed project gives way to code bloat, because more time is spent in development and maintenance than in design. · Simplified and Streamlinded ADO.NET
· ADO.NET is very powerful and gives access to very-low level functionality. The AE project adds a lightweight wrapper around ADO.NET to streamline the most commonly used features

· Lightweight and Comprehensive ORMapper
· There a number of ORM's out there, but it seems that each requires very specific configuration and make the memory footprint of the objects rather large. The AE project includes base classes to provide a balance between memory footprint, flexibility, and ease-of-coding.

· Ever wanted to switch data providers with a config change, and not have to worry about the code? Now you can. The provided MsSqlProvider includes the ability to create the table for a specific class. The provided XmlProvider includes transaction-based operations just like the MsSqlProvider. There is also built in support for automatically saving child objects and index references. So when you create a new customer and the associated address class fails to save with, the entire process is rolled-back safely.

· Form Generation
· Along with the ORMapper is a set of controls and tools for automatic form generation. Create your class, and let the server worry about creating the forms for editing that object. You can easily add your own custom editing controls.

· Custom, Strongly Typed Sessions
· The AE project includes a BaseSession class that includes all the functionaly required for clean session management. You can inherit from this class and create your own strongly-typed session class.

· Scheduled Tasks
· The BaseTimer class enables you to create your own scheduled tasks. The provided DateTime functions make it easy for you to schedule tasks that run on certain days of the week or at certain intervals.

· Encryption
· There is also built-in support to make easy work of several different types of encryption, from simple, to symmetrical, and RSA (assymetrical) encrytion.

· Built-In Cached Data Handlers
· The CachedData handler allows you to create your own HttpHandlers that have caching and compression built in. This can be used for generated images, or a concatenation of JavaScript or CSS files. The cache is file based to avoid creating a large memory footprint.

· Built-In Image Handlers
· The built in image handlers give you the ability to create gradients, stripes, resized and/or shadowed images on the fly, and again, caching is handled automatically.

· Common Extensions
· Added to this incredible list of features is a comprehensive list of Extension Methods--such as String.Contains and String.Replace function that accept a StringComparison parameter--allowing you to do case-insensitive contains and replace operations. Other extensions allow for easier XmlDocument navigating, string-to-integer, -boolean, -double operations, Regex operations, etc.
