Easy-OPT Express 1.01 Description:

Easy-OPT Express is an interactive software system to minimize a nonlinear function subject to equality or inequality constraints. Problems may possess arbitrary constraints. It is assumed that nonlinear functions are differentiable.

The underlying numerical algorithms are coded in FORTRAN and are running independently from the interface. Model functions are interpreted and evaluated symbolically by a program called PCOMP that allows in addition automatic differentiation of nonlinear model functions.

The numerical programs are designed as stand-alone products, i.e. run without compilation and linking. They are main programs, which read formatted input data and nonlinear functions in a FORTRAN-like language, and execute a standard nonlinear optimization algorithm, where the gradients are evaluated automatically. Thus, the programs are particularly useful for classroom exercises of optimization courses or to become familiar with optimization routines before starting a real life implementation.
