FastRestore provides different types of protection mode. Here is a detailed description of the three states:

Keep
When a drive is set to "Keep", FastRestore keeps tracking on any changes made to this drive and takes a snapshot of it when you perform a "Resave" operation. You can manually restore the drive to the latest Resave moment later at any time. It is suggest that you use this mode on the extended drives on a personal computer and perform a resave before taking some risky operation like installing unfamiliar software or downloading suspicious content.

Protect
When a drive is set to "Protect", FastRestore keeps tracking on any changes made to this drive and takes a snapshot of it when you perform a "Resave" operation. It automatically restore the drive to the latest Resave moment at each system start-up. Also you can perform a manual restore at any later time. It is suggest that this mode is used for the system drive on a public computer.

Unprotect
When a drive is set to "Unprotect", FastRestore does not track or protect this drive.
