FileSieve is an application created to help with the sorting of files and directories. Select the directories you would like to sort, choose a sorting method, and then click on Start and FileSieve will "sieve" the selected items according to the sorting method and any optional settings you have set.

FileSieve supports at least 10 sorting methods, is multi-threadedand it will allow you to pause the sieving any time you need to.

· Source Directories
Rather than just selecting a single directory to work on, in FileSieve you can select as many source directories as you require and, depending on the set processing options, the contained files and/or folders will be processed into the selected destination directory.

· Multiple Sorting Methods
This version of the software supports ten sorting methods. A method is a preset algorithm that processes items in the source directories in a particular way; this allows you to choose a way of sorting items in a specifically general way. Methods typically contain additional settings that allow you to tailor them further, if required.

· Threaded Processing
Files and directories are processed in a separate background thread that can have its priority changed on-the-fly, can be paused, resumed, and stopped at any time. This also opens up the possibility of a future version that will give the functionality of multiple threads running at the same time and across multiple processors.
