FindTextInFiles was made because starting with Windows XP, the wonderful folks at Microsoft decided to not search in all files for the text you specify just to save time. They assumed you only wanted to search in certain files like Word & Excel files. I did find a registry fix for this, but it only works on some extensions and it doesn't work on mapped networked drives. All they had to do was give you an option to search in all files.

You can run the 'FindTextInFilesAdd.reg' file in the c:program filesfindtextinfiles directory to be able to right-click on a folder and launch FindTextInFiles. That way it automatically fills in the folder you want to search.
You may remove it by deleting running the 'FindTextInFilesDelete.reg' file in the c:program filesfindtextinfiles directory.
