As well as reporting, IIS Monitor can associate actions with errors, performing them whenever the relevant error(s) occur.

You can define one or more actions to be performed automatically whenever a specific error occurs. Such actions include playing audio files (as a warning signal), running applications, running script files and restarting Internet Information Services (IIS) itself - vital if you have an ODBC-based website which can slow down or fail due to increasing visitors.

You can further specify when actions occur by restricted them to a single page and/or restricting them to being performed only when the error has occurred a specified number of times.

IIS Monitor also has a trip counter for each error, which can be reset either manually or by actions. You can even specify that actions only occur when the "trip counter" reaches a certain number - in other words, when the error has occurred a specified amount of times since the trip was reset.

Combining this feature with resetting the trip counter by an action allows you to set up actions which occur every 'x' times the error occurs - making a very useful preventative maintenence system.
