Lens distortion occurs whenever media is recorded with most of today's conventional video and/or photographic cameras. The amount of distortion can depend on various factors, particularly the type of camera lens used. (the wider the lens, the more distortion).

Lens distortion can be classified into two categories - "Barrel" distortion (similar to the exterior curves of a sphere) and "Pincushion" distortion (similar to the interior curves of a sphere). (Fisheye distortion fits into a separate category altogether.)

By using appropriate algorithms, these distortions can be minimized, eliminated and if desired, even reversed.

Lens Corrector PRO brings camera lens distortion correction to a new professional level by adding numerous algorithms and image processing tools that facilitate the removal of distortions of the sort.

Lens Corrector PRO can be used for a variety of other corrections, not just lens distortion. The "Advanced Parameters" controls allow you to manually scale, skew (shear), perspective, taper, shift, flip and rotate your image in the horizontal and/or vertical, according to a user specified center axis.
These controls are particularly useful for the removal of perspective from buildings, the remapping of misaligned images, and even the transformation to fisheye perspective.
