Filtered Views can be saved in Filter Favorites,so that you can treat them just as SharePoint views. Filtered Views can also be renamed or deleted which is supported in Organize Favorite Filters menu.

You can save filter configuration as private one which can only be viewed by yourself, or as public one which can be viewed by all the people who have authority to access it. Only the filter configuration based on public views can be saved as public filter. The filters will be automatically deleted if the views which the filters are based on do not exist.
