Vocabulary Fitness 1.3 Description:

Vocabulary Fitness is a really useful application that allows students to improve their English skills and provides teachers with measurable results.

The program helps students master commonly confused and misused words. Each set contains 36 vocabulary lessons and 792 questions.

The program is compatible with Merit Text Talker, which allows students to have the text read aloud to them.

Designed for users in grades four and up at different levels of proficiency in English usage. The program can also be used by ESL and adult students interested in improving their vocabulary skills.

Helps students master commonly confused and misused words. It is a self-paced, improvement and management program that helps students sharpen their vocabulary skills and lets teachers monitor their students' independent learning.

After an assessment, students work on specific words or learn in a mixed practice format. Students build vocabulary through vocabulary in context sentences as well as FYIs, (for your information) word origin fact. They receive help and contextual feedback.

Students are able to track their progress and print results. Student scores are kept in a management system that allows teachers to view and print reports.

The program provides practice at six units of difficulty with twelve skills per unit. The student is asked to find the error among several highlighted choices. If the sentence is correct, the student selects 'No Error.'

Each lesson is self-directing and self-correcting. Students receive graphic rewards. Following each round on the summary screen is a Print option, which generates a progress-to-date report.

Student scores are kept in a management system that allows teachers to view and print reports.
