I plan on switching to Mozy as soon as the subscription is up. I have struggled with this for a year, and customer service gives you LONG drawn-out exercises to get you off their back, IF you are lucky enough to get an answer. But they don't work. I have to redownload the package every time I reboot.

So I did reinstall it last week, had a hard drive crash the next day. I can't tell you the hassles I am having trying to get the files back that are backed up. I "just let it run" restore while I was gone for three days, no luck. My xls file with 8000 names that I have put over forty hours into - oops! -- not backed up at all. Carbonite never got around to it.

Bad software, worse customer service. They like to make it look like YOU are the stupid one. Don't fall for that.

Oh, and when you DO renew, they take your money and quit backing you up at all. You can yell and scream about the receipt, the acknowledgment from them about your payment, whatever. They just ignore you. LOTS of emails to customer service, none even acknowledged. (And this is for a nonprofit, go figure!)

The only way to backup safely is to get another service.
